RELAXED SCREENING

Gregory's Girl

UK 1980, 91 mins
Directors: Bill Forsyth

+ intro and discussion

Director Forsyth (Local Hero) also scripted this perceptive and very funny coming-of-age tale, set on the outskirts of Glasgow. The epitome of a gawky, awkward teen, Gregory desperately needs some help when he falls for the new, gifted member of the school football team. How could he possibly comprehend the various social codes required for him to navigate the rocky waters of budding romance?

The post screening discussion will be led by artist Sam Ahern from The Neurocultures Collective and BFI’s Douglas Weir.
